That is a good question! Well, it's a new thing. During a Civic Design-a-thon we go into analog mode, using both technology and human-centered design principles to explore community challenges, obstacles, stakeholders, data and form an plan of action.
We strongly believe in building with a community and not for them. Therefore, we've designed a weekend around discovering who needs to be "in the room" to create useable solutions.
You won't hear us talk about the build, because the focus is the discovery. It's your weekend to bond with post-it notes, butcher paper and community.
